Professional career:

Sylvain Justier holds a postgraduate diploma in Business Law (DJCE) from the University of Rennes. He began his career at CMS Francis Lefebvre Avocats in January 2001 in the Europe, Competition, and Economic Regulations team, a team in which he became Counsel in 2006. In 2007, he joined the Antitrust & Regulatory practice of White & Case LLP.

Expertise field:

He has a significant practice in competition law and handled numerous antitrust cases before the French Competition Authority and national courts: assistance during dawn raids and contesting these operations, representation of plaintiffs and defendants in the context of cartel or abuse of dominant position cases, private enforcement litigation related to anticompetitive practices (more than ten actions to date, for amounts ranging between several millions and hundreds of millions of euros). He also intervenes in merger control, restrictive competition practices and unfair competition.

Activity area:

Sylvain Justier has also considerable expertise in several regulated sectors, particularly those of telecoms and rail transport. Beyond the antitrust cases handled in these sectors, he intervenes on all the regulatory issues encountered by his clients and assists them, especially in the context of sanctions procedures or dispute settlement before sectoral regulators (numerous procedures before ARCEP and ART in particular).

He is recommended in competition and regulation by all professional league tables and frequently speaks at major conferences dedicated to these sectors of activity.
